• Doctor Who Legacy runs much faster in airplane mode. However, with airplane mode on, you cannot make or receive any calls. I recommend getting a former phone that is not used to make calls anymore to play Doctor Who Legacy.

First you will need to download the Doctor Who Legacy Apk version 3.5.2 this was the last build released before the app was removed from the app store. Along with this getting the .obb file is also important:

Secondly you will need to download Lucky Patcher: https://www.luckypatchers.com/download/

Install the LP Installer and the LP Downloader and agree to their terms (another reason using a former phone might be helpful).

Third install Doctor Who Legacy Apk version 3.5.2.

Fourth launch Lucky Patcher.

Now for unlocking the content…

Select the Doctor Who Legacy App in Lucky Patcher.

Select the option Menu of Patches from the list.

Select Create Modified APK File.

Select APK with Multi-patch.

Select Remove License Verification and Support patch for InApp and LVL emulation.

Select rebuild the app.

Wait for the app to compile.

When finished you will get several errors, ignore them and select go to file.

Select Uninstall and Install.

The new APK file should have replaced your former icon. Do not try to run it yet. You first need to take the .obb file that you acquired earlier and place it in your phone's system files.

Open your file manager program (search the Google Play Store if you do not have one).

Select Internal Storage

Select the Android file

Select the .obb file

Select the main.61.com.tinyrebel.doctorwholegacy.obb file

Place your .obb file inside

You can now boot up Doctor Who Legacy (remember to use airplane mode if it is running slow)

Once it is loaded attempt to buy something and the Lucky Patcher will boot up instead of the Google Play purchase screen.

It will ask if you want to get this for free (which you should since these items are no longer purchasable without this method)

Go through and purchase any content to you heart's content!

WARNING: Do not click the box that says, "Save this purchase" when buying the crystals through Lucky Patcher. Clicking it can temporarily lock you out of buying more crystals.

In order to unlock Challenge Levels 20-30, Stiff is searching for anyone who has the most recent .obb for the game. You have this if you were able to unlock the character Missy and have 249 available character slots in the game. If he can get ahold of this file, he should be able to add the content back into the Doctor Who Legacy experience!

I have every companion but one and I clicked there to see which one I'm missing, but instead found that the sortable table needs "Charlotte Elspeth Pollard +" added as a character.

Plus whatever character I'm missing because I have all the ones listed.

Do we have anyone proficient in determining enemy stats who currently has access to the Fan Area? We need stats filled in for all levels in Category:Needs Improvement.

This is something I've never got the hang of, and don't have time for anyway. Any help would be appreciated.

While we're discussing some cosmetic changes, I would suggest removing the Additional Outfits column in the Allies table of each season page. It's a pain to have to update this info whenever an outfit is added, and I don't think it adds any useful information. Category:Characters with outfits is a better reference.

As the title says, I wanted to start a discussion on how to deal with the "Drop/Source" column of Category:Companions: The game keeps growing and I have the feeling that the used abbreviations are getting more and more "obscure" / hard to remember (and certainly the "X" I used for 2016 Xmas doesn't help either ;-) ).

I would like to change things a bit, and had some ideas to improve:

1. Don't list such detailed drop locations, but only the more generic categories "Chapter", "Special", "Premium", "Fan", "Store", "Code" mostly according to the in-game tabs and remove the level information altogether. Detailed information can be found on the character pages anyway. Missing the Expert isn't great, but I don't want to introduce special rules for some sub-categories only.
2. Stop using abbreviations. The biggest drawback here is probably the table layout itself: It is a big table and this will probably make it bigger (though damage can maybe be minimized via CSS) to improve information that imo isn't that important for the presented data.
3. Remove that column including its content completely from the table. Most of this information should be accessible via Category:Allies by season, so overall we shouldn't lose much.

My current favorite currently is the first method (looser categorization) and if no one has anything to say about it, I probably will just change it sometime in the future.

Once, we held the images of disguised zygons on the Zygon page. But, back then, as highlighted by Felicity, the table would "go on forever". Therefore, the images were removed and only links to allies who had been copied were kept.

However, I noticed that some level pages used the ally image on for the enemy, instead of adding a new image (actually, some of these added by myself). I realized that the reason was because it was really hard to find these images without them being in a table or page just for themselves.

Then, I created a category for all these images. I also added a link for it on Zygon (enemy). Hopefully, this will help everyone when creating pages for a level with disguised Zygons.

Currently, most non-TV companions have indications of where they come from on the "Outfits" section of their pages (such as Charlotte Elspeth Pollard, Cinder, Frobisher and even Torchwood/Sarah Jane Adventures characters like Fan Area Gwen Cooper and Sarah Janes Sonic Lipstick)

However, given that we don't make such differenciation for New Who and Classic Who (or, even better, since we never use "Regular Appearance (Doctor Who)"), does it really make sense to use (Novel), (Big Finish Audios), (Titan Comics), (Torchwood) or any other sufix on "Regular Appearance"?

If we do it for some medias, we should use them in all pages equally. However, it gets pretty complicated with characters who appear in different medias. The Tenth Doctor looks the same on Doctor Who, Sarah Jane Adventures, Doctor Who comics, books and audios. Then, we'd need to use all sufixes on his appearance.

This way, in my opinion, it is simply better not to use these sufixes at all. What do you all think?

Is it ok for everyone if I make a small change on the first two tables of the page? They are, currently, the only tables to use

instead of

This small change on the coding of the table makes it occupy less space on the page, and actually, in my opinion, make it looks better as well.

ive been futzing around with templates and portraits again... [sarcasm] yes, i can hear yall groaning...  :-) [/s] and i wanted to check in and see if what-ive-done is useful to try and incorporate elsewhere...

i made a template, similar to (but different than) the Template:Portrait called Template:Head1 which is designed to give a handy-linking image for the single-color versions of all the allies...

since the naming (and filetypes) are not standardized for the <character>-head.files , i needed to be able to adjust for extensions and capitalizations (a little bit)... that is all documented at the template...

i also went thru all of the current-216 companions and 39-docs and pulled up their current-head-shots... the results are sitting in my scratchspace: User:Hfelton/sandbox for now... the only two i couldnt locate anything for were silent-priest-RED and the latest susan-foreman... otherwise i just used redirects to fixup any naming-issues i ran across... (edit: had susan-foreman, so uploaded - but my red-ood was double-color already) (edit2: oops, sil-prst-red was still level-1 - so uploaded it... nm...)

ok - so why this forum discussion ? three-ish things... 1) do we want to add the single-color head-shots to each character-page [ie: char/infobox] ? 2) assuming (1) is a yes..., (2a) should we standardize the naming (and/or category???) of head-shot files ? -or- (b) would it be ok to leave weird breadcrumbs in the callout for each characters-page ? 3) do we need better single-color head-shots ? [eg: some of the adipose-files looked kinda weak to me]...

anyways - no biggie... if this isnt interesting for yall, im cool... i kinda enjoyed (long-slog, but happy-now) going thru all the current-allies and trying to locate all their single-color head-shots...

ok - i am trying to understand categories... it is tough [read: complex/complicated] for me... however my goal seems fairly-simple, so i will express my question (eventually?) that way...

the character Bannakaffalatta is a character i am studying... in particular, it (like susan-foreman and shayde/absolom-daak/frobisher) is only currently obtainable thru a promo-code... since i never was able to get that-promo-code at the time-it-was-available; it [the character] holds a bit of mystery for me... when i go to that character, i see several descriptive-categories for me to follow - which is great...

i would like to somehow add 2-more descriptive-categories for that character...

[ignore] the first category should be something like only-available-via-code-release [OAVCR :-)]... that category can be deciphered from looking at the bottom of the companions-table at use-table-button... honestly, that is not-too-important for this discussion, so i will drop it... aack - i need to add susan-foreman to that table, too, btw... [/ignore]

the second category i REALLY want to mention is characters-playable-for-fixed-teams [CP4FT :-)]... in particular, currently this character Bannakaffalatta can be played in the game... the level that i noticed-him/it was in Hell Bent/Hell Bent, but only in the easy-version for Season 9...

so, my question: how can we add a category (or more?) that allows me to look at a character that i am interested-in and find-out what-levels i could play to experience that character ?

this would affect the kids-area levels a lot, because that is where (besides the tutorials) people would experience the fixed-teams concept... it might also affect the expert-levels as well, because there are fixed-characters required there (altho a user cannot actually play those levels unless theyve acquired the fixed-character, so maybe it isnt important for that)... however, all of the easy-season-9 levels (with no experience gained) allow me to play with a character that i may-NOT yet have...

maybe this (adding or adjusting categories) is a hot-button topic because of past-issues; so if this idea is no-good, then feel free to tell me... i have tried following along the TREE of categories and some of the extra pages involved in their usage (like DWLegacy Wiki:Rules for categorization by associated Doctors and tabbed pages)... so maybe there is a way to add this idea-category CP4FT somehow...

the really-hard-part is trying to go-back and cross-correlate levels with characters, in general... but im currently only interested in giving users a clue that the character they are interested-in is playable, if not necessarily located at a drop-level somewhere...

sorry to be so long-winded... and maybe i dont need anything more than a category named season-9-fixed-team-members [S9FTM ?]... or kids-area-fixed-team-members... or (after reading this thread maybe the term should be pre-selected-team-member... idk...

just a thread to chat about the latest dwl-game-version...

in particular, after downloading the update - i finally brute forced my way (took 2 crystals) thru the last-doctor i needed for the set (of 29 currently): 7th+ from the 8th+-macra-level...

the first thing i noticed when going-over to check on the new-doctor was that the "New"-overlay had changed significantly... now it is a top-right-corner overlay, rather than a centered-item... and the font is different/smaller... as an older person, my first response was dislike "any change is bad" - but i guess it will grow on me...  :)

heres a semi-rhetorical-question tho... how do i confirm (since i have two android phones) which version of the game was installed ?? when i looked around the game-screens to find this info - it was not obvious to me... options->support->credits was my best-guess, but that was the long-crawl of thank-yous... the options->app-info screen (which has all the sign-in stuff for the user) does not list the game version-number...

the best-answer i could come up with was that in google-play; the version-number (for the current/latest) is listed as v.3.4 ... i "know" from the intro-screen that we are in the 3-series... i dont use facebook, so i was just wondering whether all the version-numbers are synchronized... and whether the value 3.4 is correct (or if there are more-details)...

what is the best solution to the PNG vs JPG problem ?  

this came up when i tried to debug making an enemies-table...  trying to use the portrait-template assumes the files end in .png; however i found that some might end in .jpg...  changing the files-themselves seems like the not-optimal solution...  however, im not exactly sure how to change the http://dwlegacy.wikia.com/wiki/Template:Portrait myself...  im tempted to try adding a default ext-field but there really ought to be a way to have it try-them-both...

ideas ?  i dont want to try mucking in the template-itself since that would prolly have reverberations further down the chain of pages...

im sandboxing an enemies-table which seems to be a tricky-proposition (because of the multiple-possible-uses) and am wondering if such a thing (as i am/was looking for) already exists...

specifically, when trying to create the trickster-pack page, i had no idea what the claw/crab enemies were called...  it took a lot of wandering around until i figured out they were called macra...  

is there a page (autogenerated, preferably) that would list all the enemies with a photo-id ???

if not, i will continue futzing around to create such-a-thing in my sandbox based on the data i can put together from here...  it (to me) seems like a simple-repurpose of the allies-grid/table which i was playing with...  but obv. itd be silly to work on it if something already exists (and i just didnt know),,,

oh yeah - it looks like a fair-amount of the enemy-data i need (chapter) used to be in the history of each enemy (levels-table) so it wont be too-terrible to recreate by hand - however if there is a code-ing way to scrape the data; thatd be better...  

for that matter the allies table/grid page is updated (by me) by hand also...  not too terrible, but might be nice if there were a way to link-it-together using code...

im fairly new to this place - dwlegacy in general and wikia in specific; so please consider this an intro-to-me-thread as well as the general question i want to ask...

i have tried, a couple of times, to understand how the wikia works so that i could make useful edits...  my guess is that it is just easier to let the few people who actually DO know wikia - actually do the edits...  im slowly, but surely, making my way thru the game and as i do so, this wikia is incredibly useful to me...

my question is - is there a "recommended" way to understand this system (so that i could make useful contributions) ? 

ive tried to read a couple of threads, but the details dont yet make sense to me...  basically, if there were a "sandbox" area that i could try things out - itd be great...  or maybe a git-repository of the current codebase ?  im assuming that theres a way to create a personal-wikia that would mirror this one ?

when i started playing this game, i did not know about this resource - so i came up with my own way of "keeping track" of things which involves a multipage-google-spreadsheet...  once i realized this resource existed - i was able to flesh out my spreadsheet with more useful information...  in particular, i use this site as a "what am i missing" resource as i work my way thru the game...  as i noted from others - theres a "completionist" (read perfectionist) streak that makes me want to correct mistakes that i notice... 

today i just finished picking up the last of the chapter-2 allies and am working thru chapter-3 and leveling up some teams...  [sidetrack] i notice that the latest "husbands of river song" series of characters/costumes/levels is slowly but surely getting added to this wikia - and i do not want to interrupt those of yall that are working thru it much-more-methodically than i am/have-been/did...[/sidetrack]  otoh, looking thru the level-3 page - i am noticing lots of little inconsistencies that id like to "fix"...  in particular, some of the "links" refer to the character-with-a-hashtag-outfits-section which isnt working correctly...  the overall info is correct (characters and outfits), just the sub-linked info from the list-of-levels dont seem correct to me...

so - asking again, is there a way that i could either "work in a sandbox" or maybe "scrape" a few pages to try and get a handle on how editing would work ?

I've got 194/196 characters, for a long time I was missing one character, but now I seem to be missing two.

Is this normal, or did I miss some from promotions?

In Into the Dalek there is a Time War Dalek (right-facing).Is it the only level where it happens? If it is,I think it's worth leaving it as it is now. If it isn't, I think it is worth adding a "Time War Dalek B" file. I was going to replace it by the Aristotile Dalek A,but therethe art of the dalek mentioned above and the Aristotile above are different.

Well, how about this and that? There's wikitext (assembled on one page so I did not have to create 7 in my userspace) and there's CSS to make it work.

I lightened up the black/grey border a little further for the benefit of Chrome users, but I could not get rid of the black lines between the 3D borders and the cell content.

On pages that get embedded in others, like intro pages and tabbed character pages we often use float:right on edit links, which I think is a bad idea because in some cases it makes it look like the edit link was actually in the middle of the following paragraph/sentence. Imho they should always be in a line of their own.
