One popular and powerful strategy is to use Convert characters to deal a massive amount of damage, especially in conjunction with Boost characters and Gem Drop characters to further increase the damage.
It is possible to use three characters to convert the complete board (not including Stone gems) to any color. To convert all gems to the chosen color activate all powers from left to right.
This article simply provides possible combinations of three characters that achieve this goal. Since there are quite a lot of such combinations, only characters that have the primary color of the wanted gem are considered. No stat points are used for this overview, meaning that the in-game values will be higher in most situations.
